London

We fitted so much into our 24 hours in London and it was great. First we visited Anna and Andrea to deliver icecream maker and return Blackberry. Anna is the daughter of Marco and Angela the family we visited in Verona Italy. She has been a great help in organising our visit there and translating emails for us. Carlo was also there on holidays from Italy. The Italian schools breakup for 12 weeks in the summer- some holiday.

On the Friday after a fab lunch at The Greyhound in Dulwich we headed onto David and Kim’s place in Battersea. Ron was abused a few times on the way through London as we got lost and confused, one time by a lollypop woman. The traffic is hectic especially for the inexperienced. The buses are lethal. We saw one car bumped by a bus.

The apartments where David and Kim live were having a Resident’s Party as a celebration for Alan who has been a porter there for 20 years. Strictly we should not have been there but Kim wangled us a guest pass. A great night which was finished off with us dancing to Glastonbury broadcast in D and K apartment.

Next day (a bit of a sunglasses day) we walked around Battersea Park and breakfasted at Café there.

We then headed to Chris and Sal’s place in Wandsworth which was quite close but still a challenging drive. Sal put on a great lunch and more was drunk, in Sal’s words “a boozy lunch”. Sadly we had to rush off for Walberswick for dinner with the gang up there.

This weekend my sister Kath turned up in London but it was impossible for us to arrange to see her. She only had 2 days and we are now on a tight schedule of visiting everyone before we go home. It's hectic having holidays!!
