Back to England, Tunbridge Wells

The White Cliffs of Dover as we were coming in on ferry

We arrived back in England and went straight to Royal Tunbridge Wells to stay with Ron’s Mum, Kathleen. We spent a fair deal time cleaning out and repairing the caravan to hand over to Maxine and Andrew for them to take to Glastonbury. The handover was done near Junction 3 on the M3. We had a quick drink in The Red Lion in Lightwater and it was great to see Alex, Ben, Andrew and Maxine.

We had a lovely dinner with Sheila and Stuart at The Spread Eagle, Kathleen’s local. Sheila is an old school friend of Ron’s. English pubs are so lovely. It is 9pm and the sun is still streaming in.

We did some nice walks around Tunbridge Wells, visited Penshurst Place a magnificent home and gardens, Hastings and Bewle Water a reservoir and fine habitat for birds.
